On 12 September, the final report of a pilot study was published, which for the first time provides insights into sexualised violence in the Catholic Church in Switzerland. The study examined sexualised violence perpetrated by church employees, clergy and religious since the mid-20th century. A historiographical approach was followed. The one-year project serves as a basis for more extensive research starting in 2024.
Here you can find the final report a background to the finished project.
An interview with the researchers can be found on katholisch.de (German). Interesting: At the end of the interview, there is a call for stronger international networking of research on sexualised violence and the church. Let’s do them the favour!
