Online Conference

Our yearly online conference is aimed at all people who are committed to combating sexualised violence in the Catholic Church through their academic or practical work. The aim of the format is to provide mutual support through the exchange of knowledge and experience and, in the medium term, to build an informal network of allies across national and linguistic borders.

The conference is part of a larger, informal network of people involved in the field. You can find more information here.

Preview

This year, we developed the program further, in order to give more topics and voices space and strengthen the exchange. In addition to a keynote speech and approx. 2–4 short presentations of 20–30 minutes, we are planning a workshop session addressing questions and problems contributed by participants.

Call for Workshopsession

The workshops are your chance to work on a more practical or theoretical question or a problem that arises from you own work. The speakers are invited to introduce the topic of the workshop, its background and lead through the workshop. The participants contribute their perspectives, experiences and knowledge in a joint search for answers. The workshop session should last approx. 45 minutes. The different workshop groups will take place parallel. The participants can choose to join one workshop.
At the beginning, the background of the topic should be briefly introduced within 5-10 minutes. Afterwards the opportunity should be used to share perspectives and experiences and think about solutions. As the speaker, you can provide a clear structure or just moderate the ongoing dialogue in your favour. We leave it to your hands. The input should be strictly limited to contextualising the question.

If you are interested, please submit a question, problem with some basic information about the background (ca. 1000 – 2000 characters incl. spaces) until 1 August 2024 by e-mail to info@ipa-institut.com. The proposed topics should suite for entering a constructive dialogue from different perspectives and experiences. With a view to the remaining program and estimated participants, we select up to 5 proposals and give you feedback until 16 August 2024.

We are looking forward to the proposals and would be delighted if you could enrich the conference with your contributions. We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
